In 2024, Cara Spencer announced her campaign to challenge incumbent Tishaura Jones, who had defeated her by 4% in 2021. Cara’s second mayoral campaign focused on getting the city back to basics—filling potholes, picking up trash, and making neighborhoods safer. This piece was the first in a series that introduced Cara and laid out her vision for St. Louis. Her message resonated with voters and carried her to a 28% victory.
